Our Academics Contribute to International Conference on Polish Literature in Paris
On March 16–17, 2026, an international academic conference titled “Poétiques et figures de la liberté et de l’existence dans les lettres, les arts et la pensée polonaise XIXᵉ–XXIᵉ siècles” (“Freedom – Existence – Relation. Polish Narratives of Being from the 19th to the 21st Century”) was held in Paris at the Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales (INALCO).
Organized by Professor Piotr Biłos, the conference formed part of a wider research initiative examining Polish literature within a global framework. The interdisciplinary event gathered scholars from Poland, France, and other countries, representing fields such as literary studies, history, philosophy, and cultural studies. Its central objective was to explore the place of Polish literature in the global context and discuss contemporary approaches to its presentation.
The Institute of Polish Studies and Journalism at the University of Rzeszów was represented by Prof. Anna Jamrozek-Sowa, Dr. Anna Dworak, and Prof. Arkadiusz Luboń. The University of Rzeszów was also among the academic patrons of the conference.
Beyond the academic sessions, the event enabled participants to establish new research partnerships and exchange insights on promoting Polish culture internationally. While in Paris, the delegates also visited the Polish Library on Quai d’Orléans, where they consulted unique archival resources.
