About

       Dydaktyka Polonistyczna (previous title: Dydaktyka. Zeszyty Naukowe Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego. Seria Filologiczna) is an academic journal aimed at publishing papers in the fields of literature studies, culture studies, linguistics, didactics and language teaching.
      The journal also presents articles addressing numerous issues vital to the education of young people and university students.
      Dydaktyka Polonistyczna features contributions of the authors from various academic institutions, as well as of novice researchers and Polish language teachers. Our objective is not only to popularize the research results, but also to bring together the academic communities concerned with the education of young people.

Ethical Principles to be Observed by Academic Contributors 

With a view to ensuring observance of the academic good practices, the editorial board of Dydaktyka Polonistyczna has adopted the following ethical principles to be observed by the prospective contributors to the journal. 
      These principles have been developed in accordance with the the guidelines of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics: http://publicationethics.org) and the University Employee Ethics.


Obligations of the Authors

  1. The Dydaktyka Polonistyczna journal admits for publication only original papers, which have not been previously published in another academic journal or monograph.
  2. The authors must quote the results of other scholars’ research honestly and correctly.
  3. If the paper has been written in collaboration, the order of the authors’ names must be accepted by the collaborators.
  4. The authors must observe the principles of academic reliability.
  5. Any cases of ghostwriting (when a significant contribution to the paper has been made by an unnamed co-author or one whose contribution has not been referred to in the acknowledgements) or guest authorship (when the actual contribution of the person named as a co-author has been minimal or non-existent) are deemed unethical and considered as cases of academic unreliability. Each co-author must grant his/her individual consent to contributing the paper to Dydaktyka Polonistyczna.
  6. Cases of plagiarism are deemed unethical and considered as cases of academic unreliability.


Obligations of the Editorial Board

  1. A paper can be accepted for publication subject to the Dydaktyka Polonistyczna editors’ assessment of its character and profile, as well as its author’s academic reliability.
  2. All the detected cases of violation of the ethics or academic unreliability will be exposed by the Editors, which will include notifying the institutions in which the unethical authors are employed.
  3. If there is a suspicion of an author’s unreliability, or if the Editors receive a justified complaint about the violation of academic publication ethics, the Editors will notify the author(s) concerned of the allegations in writing and ask for an explanation. If a case of academic unreliability is detected, the paper in question will not be published, and the institution that the author represents will be informed of the incident. If a case of academic unreliability is clearly confirmed after the paper in question has already been published, the institution in which the unethical authors are employed will be informed of the fact.


Obligations of the Reviewers

  1. Each paper sent to be published in Dydaktyka Polonistyczna will be reviewed by two independent reviewers representing different academic institutions. The reviewers must sign a declaration of no conflict of interest (between them and the author(s) of the paper reviewed).
  2. In their reviews, the reviewers will assess the originality of the topic, the paper’s cognitive value, factual accuracy, clarity of composition and stylistic correctness.
  3. If the paper goes beyond the scope of the reviewer’s competence or if the deadline for producing the review cannot be met, the reviewer must inform the Editors of the fact, and another reviewer will be appointed.
  4. The paper reviewed and its reviews are confidential. The reviewers should not reveal their opinion to third parties until the paper concerned is published. Without the consent of the author(s), the reviewers may not take advantage of the research ideas or results presented in the paper reviewed.
  5. The reviews should be written with due diligence.
  6. If there is a suspicion of a malpractice (including plagiarism) on the part of the author of the paper reviewed, the reviewer will inform the Editorial Board of the fact, quoting the problematic passages, or offering specific evidence.
