How Ready Are European Schools for AI? New Report from the AI TEACH Project
We’re happy to share a new international mapping report on Artificial Intelligence in Education (AIED), prepared as part of the AI TEACH project. The report looks at how ready education systems across Europe are for using AI in schools, teacher education, and education policy, and shows that readiness and support still vary a lot from country to country.
The report brings together insights from research, EU policy documents, curriculum analysis, and feedback from teachers and other education professionals from six European countries. It offers a clear picture of how AI is currently being introduced into education and where the main challenges still lie.
The findings show how AI is being used in secondary schools, where there is a gap between policy plans and everyday classroom practice, and what kind of knowledge and support pre-service teachers, in service teachers, and teacher educators say they need. All of this is brought together in a final gap analysis that points to practical directions for future policy, teacher training, and classroom work.
We are proud to note that dr Marta Dick-Bursztyn is one of the leaders of the AI TEACH project, which focuses on helping educators use AI in informed, responsible, and practical ways.
The report is a useful read for teachers, teacher educators, school leaders, and policymakers, as well as for anyone interested in how AI is shaping education.
