Center tasks

The Centre for Regional and Cross-Border Studies carries out its tasks by:

  • conducting scientific research and innovative projects,
  • developing development strategies and expert opinions,
  • creating an international organizational structure in the form of a cooperation network,
  • building information resources on cross-border processes and economies that are not only regionally significant but also strategically important for shaping macroeconomic policies, with the prospect of establishing the Three Seas Regions Observatory,
  • coordinating cooperation within the Three Seas Regions Observatory and the Cross-Border Scientific, Information, and Statistical Cluster "INFOSTAT UKRAINE-POLAND,"
  • creating a regional statistics system to monitor socio-economic phenomena and conducting scientific research in cross-border areas,
  • actively participating in international organizations and cooperation networks,
  • preparing analyses and recommendations on issues related to the Centre's activities,
  • preparing studies, monographs, and maintaining the journal Transborder Economics,
  • organizing/co-organizing meetings, open lectures, debates, seminars, conferences, and congresses,
  • conducting postgraduate studies and courses on topics relevant to the Center's activities,
  • undertaking activities to activate local communities and build social capital as a foundation for building regional socio-economic systems – cooperation networks,
  • promoting the values ​​of the natural environment and cultural and historical heritage as factors constituting the basis for sustainable regional development,
  • promoting good practices in public administration in managing regional and local development,
  • undertaking actions to build regional brands based on their specific characteristics,
  • implementing internships and work placements for students and employees within the cooperation network built by the Center,
  • participating in the improvement of educational programs preparing staff for regional and local development management,
  • building and maintaining positive relationships between the University of Rzeszów and domestic and foreign research centers, as well as representatives of business and public administration practices,
  • cooperating in the acquisition of funds from domestic and international sources to implement joint projects and develop innovative ideas,
  • exchanging good practices between the scientific community and the institutional and business environment,
  • working to build a positive image of the University, the city, the region, and the institutions collaborating with the Center.
