Report from the 24th scientific conference “Social inequalities and economic growth”
On 25 September 2025, the 24th edition of the scientific conference “Social inequalities and economic growth” – “For a rational and just economic, political, and social order” was held.
The conference was organized by the Faculty of Economics and Finance of the University of Rzeszów and the editorial staff of the scientific journal “Social Inequality and Economic Growth”. The conference was inaugurated by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Finance, Prof. Bogdan Wierzbiński, and the substantive areas of the conference discussion were introduced by Prof. Michał Gabriel Woźniak, the originator and initiator of the cyclical debates in Rzeszów.
The central issue discussed during the conference was the current problems of socio-economic instability and the growing high risk to security in various dimensions, which were considered through the prism of the concept of sustainable development. The focus was primarily on the search for institutions conducive to prosperity and equitable distribution.
Discussions took place during three academic sessions that focused on:
- Shaping social justice and economic inequalities in times of uncertainty.
- Social and labor market challenges in the face of new technologies and the axiological order.
- Institutional support to balance development and shaping spatial order.
These sessions were chaired by Prof. Michał Gabriel Woźniak, Dr. Małgorzata Wosiek, and Dr. Magdalena Cyrek.
The conference was attended by dozens of scholars from research centers across Poland and abroad. The speakers represented, among others, SGH Warsaw School of Economics, Krakow University of Economics, University of Economics in Katowice, Poznań University of Economics and Business, Poznań University of Life Sciences, Jagiellonian University, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce, University of Szczecin, University of Wrocław, University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, University of the National Education Commission in Krakow, University of Zielona Góra, University of Łódź, West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin, Academy of Applied Sciences TWP in Szczecin, Academy of Applied Sciences in Nowy Sącz, Rzeszów University of Technology, University of Rzeszów, and Azerbaijan State University of Economics, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, Lviv National University of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology named after S.Z. Gzhytskyi.
