On 13 May 2026, the Faculty of Economics and Finance of the University of Rzeszów hosted a lecture entitled “From Word Statistics to Artificial Intelligence”, addressed to the academic community of the University of Rzeszów. The event took place in lecture hall C5 and gathered students, academic staff, and individuals interested in the development of modern technologies based on artificial intelligence.
The event was organized by Bogdan Wierzbiński, PhD, DSc, Associate Professor at the University of Rzeszów and Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Finance, who emphasized the importance of developing competencies related to artificial intelligence, data analysis, and modern digital technologies within both academic and business environments.
The speaker was Grzegorz Kunicki – an expert in artificial intelligence and new technologies associated with FormalFoundry.ai. During the lecture, he discussed the development of contemporary large language models (LLMs), the mechanisms behind AI systems, and the role of statistics and data analysis in the construction of intelligent information systems.
During the lecture, participants had the opportunity to explore topics related to the architecture of language models, machine learning processes, and the differences between so-called “fast thinking” and “slow thinking,” referring to modern models of decision-making and information processing. Particular attention was devoted to practical applications of artificial intelligence in text analysis, natural language processing, and business and social applications.
The event constituted another meeting in the series dedicated to artificial intelligence organized at the Faculty of Economics and Finance of the University of Rzeszów.
