ASECU Youth Winter School

Students from the University of Rzeszów, Izabela Wilk, Linda Servigne, and Dawid Bieńko, members of the UR Business Leaders Scientific Circle, and their supervisors, Mgr. Hubert Leśniak, Prof. UR, and Dr. hab. Bogdan Wierzbiński, the Dean of UR's Faculty of Economics and Finance, attended the 3rd ASECU Youth Winter School from March 23 to 29, 2025. 140 students from ten different countries—Greece, Albania, Armenia, Romania, China, Ukraine, Poland, and Italy—came together for the event, which was held in the charming village of Sofiko on the Peloponnese in Greece.
With the theme "Future Technologies and Artificial Intelligence for a Digital Economy and Society," this year's Winter School provided a forum for knowledge and experience sharing regarding the ways in which contemporary technologies and artificial intelligence are influencing the digital economy and society. The event schedule featured presentations made by members of multinational teams as well as talks given by specialists from around the globe.
The conference benefited greatly from the contributions of our academic supervisors. In a lecture titled "European Union economy - Poland directions of development and challenges," Dr. hab. Bogdan Wierzbiński, professor of UR, talked about the Polish economy's development paths in relation to the difficulties the EU is currently facing. Speaking on the subject of "Economic Education and Financial Literacy," Mr. Hubert Leśniak emphasised the significance of financial literacy and economic education in the modern society.
Presenting the findings of research done in multinational groups, University of Rzeszów students also took an active role in the event. In their presentation, "The digital divide: Those with access to technology, and those who are left behind," Dawid Bieńko and his colleagues discussed the disparities in access to technology. Presenting the topic "Cybersecurity and ethics in a globalised, interconnected world," Izabela Wilk and her colleagues addressed security and ethical concerns in a globalised, linked world. In the lecture "The impact of digitisation on national economies," Linda Servigne and her colleagues talked about how digitisation affects national economies.
Attending the 3rd ASECU Youth Winter School was a chance to promote the University of Rzeszów internationally in addition to learning new things and making international relationships. Our students and supervisors showed a great deal of commitment by actively engaging in conversations regarding the technological and economic future.
