About RIMSA

The Rzeszów International Medical Students’ Association (RIMSA) is a dynamic student organization operating within the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Rzeszów. Established in 2022, RIMSA brings together a growing community of nearly 40 students from diverse cultural and academic backgrounds, united by a shared passion for medicine and health science and scientific discovery. Our mission is to promote academic excellence, critical thinking, and cross-disciplinary collaboration. We actively support education, scientific discussion, and the exchange of ideas among students, researchers, and healthcare professionals representing various disciplines—ranging from medicine and health sciences to biomedical research and public health.

At RIMSA, we believe in the power of teamwork and innovation. With an open-minded and motivated team, we take an interdisciplinary perspective on disease prevention, modern diagnostic protocols, state-of-the-art treatment strategies, and the challenges facing today’s healthcare systems.

About Rzeszów

Rzeszów is the capital of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship and one of the fastest-growing cities in southeastern Poland. Known for its clean environment, safety, and people-friendly atmosphere, it combines the charm of a medium-sized city with the infrastructure and ambitions of a modern European center. As an academic and economic hub, Rzeszów offers excellent conditions for both studying and living. Abundant green spaces, a vibrant cultural scene, and a growing international community make it an increasingly attractive destination for students from around the world.

The University of Rzeszów is the largest institution of higher education in the region and plays a key role in shaping the academic and scientific landscape of Podkarpacie. With a strong emphasis on internationalization, the University collaborates with the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA), actively participates in the Erasmus+ programme, and engages in numerous research and educational projects with global partners. These efforts translate into valuable opportunities for students and researchers to exchange experiences and develop their academic careers on the international stage.

Since 2018, the University of Rzeszów has been offering the Medicine, Programme in English, which attracts students from across the globe. Responding to growing demand for English-language medical education, the University will launch the Physiotherapy Programme in English starting in the 2025/2026 academic year. Both programmes combine state-of-the-art teaching methods with the timeless values of medical ethics and professionalism. In 2024, the University celebrated its first cohort of international medical graduates, who solemnly took the Hippocratic Oath during the graduation ceremony—a powerful symbol of their dedication and perseverance.

The upcoming academic year will also mark a special milestone for Collegium Medicum: the 25th anniversary of the Physiotherapy programme and the 10th anniversary of the Medicine programme. These jubilees highlight not only the University’s long-standing tradition in medical education but also its dynamic role in shaping the future of healthcare in Poland and beyond.
