Our History
The Faculty of Music traces its roots back to 1985, when the Department of Musical Education was established at the Higher School of Pedagogy in Rzeszów, in collaboration with the Academy of Music in Kraków. In April 2000, it evolved into the Institute of Music.
For many years, the Institute proudly resided in the historic Lubomirski Palace on Dekerta Street – a place steeped in tradition and artistic spirit. Today, the Faculty is located at ul. Dąbrowskiego 83, in one of the University of Rzeszów’s most architecturally significant buildings. This iconic structure is celebrated as a textbook example of socialist realist architecture, admired for its bold design and historical resonance.
