The history of today's Faculty dates back to 1985. In the then Higher School of Pedagogy in Rzeszów, in cooperation with the Kraków Academy of Music, the Department of Musical Education was established, which was transformed into the Institute of Music in April 2000. For many years, it was located in the Lubomirski Palace on ul. Dekerta. Currently, the Faculty's premises are located in the building at ul. Dąbrowskiego 83 in Rzeszów.
