Profesor Andrea F. De Carlo wykłada polonistykę na Università degli studi di Napoli L’Orientale w Neapolu. Jest cenionym polonistą, dydaktykiem, autorem rozpraw poświęconych m.in. Dantemu, Józefowi Ignacemu Kraszewskiemu, Bolesławowi Leśmianowi, polskiej prozie współczesnej, obecności mitu w litearturze feministycznej. Tłumacz literatury polskiej. Jego zainteresowania badawcze koncentrują się na literaturze polskiej, związkach kulturowych między Włochami a Polską oraz przekładzie poetyckim. Otrzymał Krajową Kwalifikację Naukową jako profesor nadzwyczajny slawistyki. Jest członkiem AIS (Włoskie Stowarzyszenie Slawistów), członkiem zarządu AIP (Włoskie Stowarzyszenie Polonistów), członkiem komitetu naukowego Centrum Studiów Żydowskich (CSE) Uniwersytetu L'Orientale w Neapolu, Stowarzyszenia “Centrum Studiów - Gustaw Herling inny świat” (Neapol) oraz członkiem Międzyuniwersyteckiego Centrum Studiów Węgierskich i Studiów nad Europą Środkową i Wschodnią (CISUECO). Aktywnie współpracuje z uczelniami polskimi – pełniąc funkcję profesora wizytującego – i czasopismami naukowymi, zasiadając w ich radach naukowych (“Fabrica Litterarum Polono-Italica”, “Sztuka edycji. Studia tekstologiczne i edytorskie”, “Colloquia Orientalia Bialostocensia”, “Bibliotekarz Podlaski”). Publikował także w rzeszowskich “Tematach i Kontekstach”.

Professor Andrea F. De Carlo teaches Polish studies at the Università degli studi di Napoli L’Orientale in Naples. He is a renowned Polish language specialist, educator, and author of dissertations on Dante, Józef Ignacy Kraszewski, Bolesław Leśmian, contemporary Polish prose, and the presence of myth in feminist literature. He is also a translator of Polish literature. His research interests focus on Polish literature, cultural relations between Italy and Poland, and poetic translation. He has received the National Academic Qualification as an associate professor of Slavic studies. He is a member of the AIS (Italian Association of Slavists), a member of the board of the AIP (Italian Association of Polish Studies), a member of the scientific committee of the Centre for Jewish Studies (CSE) at the University of L'Orientale in Naples, the Association ‘Centre for Studies - Gustaw Herling Another World’ (Naples) and a member of the Interuniversity Centre for Hungarian Studies and Studies on Central and Eastern Europe (CISUECO). He actively cooperates with Polish universities – serving as a visiting professor – and scientific journals, sitting on their scientific councils (‘Fabrica Litterarum Polono-Italica’, ‘The Art of Editing. Textological and Editorial Studies’, “Colloquia Orientalia Bialostocensia”, “Bibliotekarz Podlaski”). He has also published in Rzeszów’s “Tematy i Konteksty”.
