The topic of my dissertation is: “Disinformation as a factor influencing social capital and security of local governments”
The main assumptions of the research hypothesis are that disinformation has a direct or indirect impact on:
- reducing local social capital
- reducing the level of social security
The topic of this doctoral disinformation thesis covers various aspects, including:
- Definition and Characteristics of Disinformation: This doctoral thesis will define the term "disinformation" and present the characteristics of this form of information manipulation.
- Various forms of disinformation will be discussed, such as political disinformation, online disinformation, disinformation on social media, etc.
- Causes of Disinformation: This includes the motivations of individuals or groups who create and disseminate it. Factors such as political ambition, financial gain, strengthening influence and control, as well as ideological and religious beliefs will be considered.
- Consequences of Disinformation: This doctoral thesis will discuss the consequences of disinformation, both for individuals and for society as a whole. Issues such as the impact on electoral processes, distortion of reality, division of society, increased hatred and violence, and financial damage will be addressed.
- Methods of Combating Disinformation: Issues related to methods of combating disinformation, such as public education, developing media literacy, promoting transparency and facts, as well as legal and technological regulations, will be discussed. The role of media and journalists in countering disinformation will be discussed.
- Disinformation Case Analysis: The doctoral dissertation will analyze specific cases of disinformation that have had a significant impact on society or political processes. The origins of such disinformation, its methods of dissemination, and its consequences will be identified.
- Empirical Research: The doctoral dissertation will be based on empirical research, such as surveys, focus groups, and experimental studies, which allow for a better understanding of people's perceptions of disinformation and the effectiveness of various methods of countering it.
