Meeting of the Vice-Rector for Social and Economic Cooperation with Professor Christoph Hagemeyer

On 11 February 2026, a meeting took place between the Vice-Rector for Social and Economic Cooperation, Prof. Janusz Pasterski and Prof. Christoph Hagemeyer, Director of Monash Biomedical Imaging (MBI) at Monash University in Melbourne.
Christoph Hagemeyer’s main research interests include drug delivery, molecular imaging, and novel bioconjugation techniques in the context of thrombosis, inflammation, and cancer.

The meeting was also attended by Prof. Marian Cholewa, from the Faculty of Exact and Technical Sciences, who was affiliated with Monash University between 2008 and 2011. The visit provided an opportunity to exchange experiences and discuss potential directions for cooperation between the two institutions.

During the meeting, the activities of Monash Biomedical Imaging were presented—one of Australia’s leading research centers in advanced biomedical imaging technologies. The discussions focused on opportunities to establish a partnership in scientific research, particularly in areas combining engineering, natural and medical sciences.

Both parties expressed interest in developing cooperation involving joint research projects, as well as the exchange of academic staff, PhD candidates, and students. The meeting marked an important step toward building international scientific relations and strengthening the University’s research potential through collaboration with renowned international institutions.
