Visit of the University of Rzeszów Delegation to Ukraine and Slovakia
Between 20 and 22 July 2025, the Rector of the University of Rzeszów, Professor Adam Reich and the Vice-Rector for Finance and Development, Associate Professor Józef Cebulski, paid a study visit to Ukraine and Slovakia. During the visit, they participated in meetings with representatives of three partner universities: Uzhhorod National University, Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, and the University of Prešov. The purpose of the visit was to strengthen academic cooperation, exchange experiences, and discuss joint research and educational initiatives.
Uzhhorod (Ukraine)
The visit began on 20 July in Uzhhorod. The Rector and the Vice-Rector for Finance and Development met with the authorities of Uzhhorod National University, including representatives of the Faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, and Biology. The meetings focused on the exchange of experience in the field of curricula development, research organisation, and prospects for joint projects.
Košice (Slovakia)
The next stage of the visit took place in Košice. The UR delegation attended a meeting with officials from the City of Košice, including Deputy Mayor Lucia Gurbalová and representatives of departments responsible for economic development, innovation, and international cooperation.
Subsequently, a meeting was held at Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice with the participation of Professor Silvia Ručinská, Vice-Rector for International Relations, and Professor Miroslav Štrkolec, Dean of the Faculty of Law. Discussions centred around student and academic staff mobility opportunities, joint grant applications, and collaboration within European programmes.
Prešov (Slovakia)
The final stage of the visit was a meeting with the authorities of the University of Prešov. The delegation was received by Professor Peter Adamisin. Discussions focused on international educational projects, scientific research, and the organisation of academic and cultural events.
During the meetings, the participants addressed the prospects for further developing inter-university relations, the potential for joint undertakings, and the challenges currently facing higher education. The discussions were held in an atmosphere of openness and a strong willingness to cooperate. The visit provided an opportunity to exchange experiences and establish new institutional links that may serve as a foundation for future collaborative activities in the fields of education and research.
