University Song and Dance Ensemble “Resovia Saltans” – Celebrations of the 75th Anniversary of the Jasło Cultural Centre

On Saturday, 4 October, the University Song and Dance Ensemble “Resovia Saltans” took part in the celebrations marking the 75th anniversary of the Jasło Cultural Centre (Jasielski Dom Kultury) in Jasło. The ceremony was filled with history, emotion, and distinguished guests. The evening was hosted by Director Elwira Musiałowicz-Cozzi and artist Konrad Bilski, who guided the audience on a sentimental journey through seven and a half decades of the Centre’s activity.

The jubilee began with a promotional film summarising the achievements of the Cultural Centre over the years. The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the “Flowers of Culture” – symbolic awards granted to individuals and institutions supporting culture in Jasło.

In the artistic part of the programme, the stage featured Mali Jaślanie and the Song and Dance Ensemble “Resovia Saltans”, presenting the beauty of Polish folklore. Two dance groups performed – Representative Group A and Representative Group B – as well as a vocal group.

In the first part of the concert, Resovia Saltans presented a suite of dances from the Rzeszów region, a suite of Cieszyn dances, and Carpathian dances. These suites were interwoven with vocal pieces such as “Lipka” and “Malarzyk”.

The second part of the concert was opened by Michał Deręgowski and Zuzanna Krupornicka, a competition pair trained under Dr Jadwiga Bär, who performed the kujawiak and mazur in ballroom style. Group B presented a suite of Podlasie dances, while Group A delighted the audience with “Kujawiak with Oberek”.

The dancers were accompanied by a folk band led by Associate Professor Paweł Paluch, whose beautiful music enriched the performances. The audience of the Jasło Cultural Centre gave a very warm reception and rewarded the artists of the University Song and Dance Ensemble “Resovia Saltans” with enthusiastic applause.
