Laboratory of Movement Analysis

The Laboratory of Movement Analysis, situated within the Athletics Centre for Research and Innovation in Sport, is equipped with advanced real-time measurement technologies that enable comprehensive, multi-dimensional assessments of selected aspects of human motor performance. The facility also supports the evaluation of kinetic and kinematic parameters associated with movement. Scientific research conducted in the laboratory encompasses both athletic performance studies and broader investigations involving individuals from diverse social backgrounds and age groups.

Laboratory Test Stations Include:

  • Anthropometric measurements
  • Assessment of motor abilities in sports and health-related training
  • Biomechanical analysis of movement

Instrumentation and Research Applications:

  • Biomechanical assessment of various movement patterns using systems such as OptiTrack and Ultium Portable Lab
  • Measurement and analysis of spatiotemporal parameters of gait and running using platforms and treadmills including Zebris FDM 3, h/p/cosmos Gaitway Pulsar 3p, Arsalis Gaitway 3D+1D, and Ultium Portable Lab
  • Evaluation of maximal muscular strength under isometric conditions, and measurement of muscular power and strength endurance under isokinetic conditions (BTE Primus RS, and Gamma Platform)
  • Assessment of explosive strength, power, and strength endurance of the lower limbs (AMTI BMS Force Plates, Ultium Insoles, OptoGait, and GYKO)
  • Measurement and analysis of muscle electrical activity using surface electromyography (Ultium EMG) and muscle function diagnostics via tensiomyography (TMG)
  • Assessment of joint mobility and range of motion (BTE Primus RS, Ultium Motion, and GYKO)
  • Evaluation of balance and postural stability (AMTI BMS/AccuGait Force Plates, Ultium Insoles, and GYKO)
  • Anthropometric and body composition analysis (Seca 213 Stadiometer and InBody770 Body Composition Analyser)
