Procedures and Criteria for Applying for Student Dormitory Placement

The rules for applying for a place in the Student House of the University of Rzeszów are defined by: REGULATIONS FOR BENEFITS FOR UR STUDENTS
Step 1.
Choose a Student House of the University of Rzeszów where you want to live (preferably one located close to your place of study)
you have to choose from:
- DS. „FILON” – ul. Cicha 4,
- DS. „LAURA” – ul. Cicha 2,
- DS. „OLIMP” – ul. Siemieńskiego 17,
- DS. „MERKURY” - ul. Ćwiklińskiej 2 b,
- DS. „HILTON” – ul. Ćwiklińskiej 2 c,
Step 2. Fill in application for a room in a dormitory:
- provide the following information required in the application: personal data, college, field of study, year and form of studies, etc.
- indicate the distance in km from the place of residence to Rzeszów (the distance measured according to Google Maps - the shortest route to get there),
- select a Student House,
- select the type of room (remember that in the case of choosing a single room, you must provide the required documentation and present justification in point IV of the application),
- complete the declarations included in the application,
- sign the application.
Step 3. Submit an application to the Section of the Course of Study and other Forms of Education office: A1 36, 35-959 Rzeszów, 16 C Rejtana str.,
on the below mentioned dates:
- by August 5th to apply for a place in the dormitory from October 1st (of the winter semester) of the given academic year,
- if you did not submit the application by the deadline specified above, and you are:
- accepted for studies from the winter semester,
- a student of higher years of study
You must submit the application for a place directly in the chosen student dormitory specified in the application:
- If you are admitted to studies starting from the summer semester, after receiving information about being registered on the student list (master's studies), submit an application for a place in the Student Dormitory specified in the application.
Remember!
If you decide to give up your application for a place in the Student Dormitory at UR, please inform the Section of Course of Study and Other Forms of Education immediately: in person, via email ([email protected]), or by phone (17 872 1048).
Step 4.
Decisions concerning the allocation for a place in a Student Dormitory
- Decisions regarding the allocation of a place in the Student Dormitory are made under the following conditions:
- applications submitted by August 5 will be considered until all available spots are filled in the Student Dormitories.
- for applications submitted after this date, a place may be allocated only upon confirmation from the Dormitory Manager that vacancies are still available.
- the allocation of a single room is made in consultation with the Student Government Representative.
- In the case where the number of applications exceeds the number of available places in the Student Dormitory, the distance between the student’s place of residence and the University of Rzeszów will determine the allocation priority.
- A place in the Student Dormitory is granted for the entire duration of studies, excluding the summer months, i.e. July, August, and September.
- Information regarding the allocation or non-allocation of a place will be sent by email within 5 days from the date of application review:
- to the university email address – in the case of current students,
- to the email address provided during the admission process – in the case of newly admitted students.
Remember!
If you decide to resign from the allocated place, please inform the Dormitory Manager immediately — in person, by email, or by phone.
Step 5. Positive Decision
- If you have received a positive decision, you are required, within 7 days from the date of receiving the information about the allocation of a place in the Student Dormitory, to:
- confirm your residence in the Student Dormitory in person with the Dormitory Manager, by making a deposit payment to the student’s individual sub-account generated by the Dormitory Manager. The deposit amount is equivalent to one month’s fee for the allocated place, in accordance with the Rector’s ordinance of the University of Rzeszów (you will receive the exact deposit amount and account number from the Dormitory Manager).
- sign the accommodation agreement for residence in the Student Dormitory.
Step 6. Negative Decision
- If you receive a negative decision, you will be placed on a reserve list. A place in the Student Dormitory may become available if other students who were granted accommodation resign from their spots.
- The decision to allocate a place to a person on the reserve list is made by the Manager of the respective Student Dormitory, who will then inform the student accordingly.
Step 7. Check-in (Accommodation)
- Check-in to the Student Dormitory takes place within the following deadlines:
- by October 3 of the given academic year – for students who were allocated a place starting from the winter semester.
- by March 5 of the given academic year – for students who were allocated a place starting from the summer semester.
- within 7 days from the date of receiving the information about the allocation – for students who submitted their application during the academic year.
REMEMBER!
If you have been granted a place in the Student Dormitory for the entire duration of your studies, you are required to reserve your place with the Dormitory Manager for each subsequent academic year — by June 30 at the latest.
Step 8. Rules for Living in the UR Student Dormitory
- The Rules and Regulations of the University of Rzeszów Student Dormitories define the terms of residence and payment. Familiarize yourself with them and follow these rules to ensure a comfortable living environment for yourself and others.
- The fees for accommodation for a given academic year are specified in the Rector’s Ordinance of the University of Rzeszów.
Step 9. Loss of the Right to Residence in the UR Student Dormitory
- You lose the right to the allocated place in the Student Dormitory in the following cases:
- Failure to confirm your intention to reside in the dormitory after receiving the information about the allocation,
-Expiration of the period for which the place was assigned,
- Graduation,
- Removal from the student list,
- Suspension of student rights,
- Serious violations of the dormitory rules specified in the University of Rzeszów Student Dormitories Regulations, according to the decision of the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education issued at the request of the Dormitory Manager, particularly violations of social coexistence rules, such as exposing others to harmful or troublesome consequences of one’s behavior, including disrespect or conduct violating accepted moral standards,
- Failure to comply with the accommodation deadline mentioned above,
- Failure to reserve a place in the dormitory for the next academic year by June 30.
