Dr. Oleksandr Korchynskyi has become the second laureate of the IMPRESS-U competition to receive funding from the National Science Centre (NCN). Dr. Oleksandr Korchynskyi is a molecular and cellular biologist. For over 20 years, he has worked with stem cells, focusing on the regulation of their differentiation and functional activity. His scientific achievements include publications in Nature and Science.

The scientist leads a team from Poland which, thanks to IMPRESS-U funding, will conduct research entitled “Multifunctional surfaces for high-throughput cell sorting.” The American partner in the project is a team led by Dr. Sergiy Minko from the University of Georgia, while on the Ukrainian side the work will be supervised by Prof. Yaroslav Ilnytskyy from the Institute of Condensed Matter Physics in Lviv. The budget for the Polish part of the research amounts to nearly PLN 1.08 million.
