Certyfikat ośrodka referencyjnego ISPAD dla KNM UR/Certificate of the ISPAD reference center for CM UR

Projekt SWEET jest jednym z działań International Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes (ISPAD).

International Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes jest światowym, prestiżowym i opiniotwórczym towarzystwem na rzecz diabetologii dzieci, młodzieży i młodych dorosłych.

College of Medical Sciences of the University of Rzeszow and the 1st Department of Paediatrics, Pediatric Endocrinology at the Provincial Clinical Hospital No. 2 in Rzeszów, headed by Professor Artur Mazur, obtained the certificate of the reference center in pediatric diabetes as one of 30 in the world. It happened thanks to participation in the SWEET project carried out by the College of Medical Sciences of the University of Rzeszów. The SWEET project is one of the activities of the International Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes (ISPAD).

This means that there is a center in Rzeszów that treats and conducts scientific research at the forefront of children's diabetes.

The International Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes is a global, prestigious and opinion-forming society for children, adolescents and young adults with diabetes. The group of initiators, world-renowned pediatric diabetologists, was formed in Paris in 1974 under the name of the International Study Group of Diabetes in Children and Adolescents (ISGD), which was changed to ISPAD at the 1993 congress. Scientists, doctors, nurses, psychologists and nutritionists who struggle with holistic diabetes care for a pediatric patient on a daily basis create and constantly develop ISPAD.

International ISPAD recommendations on pediatric diabetes care recommendations, issued since the 1980s, are widely cited and form the basis for other national recommendations. They are currently published in Pediatric Diabetes (IF 4,267), an affiliated journal of ISPAD. Other activities of the society include supporting programs and research, annual organization of children's diabetes schools for doctors, nurses, nutritionists and psychologists, raising - to a large extent - awareness and knowledge of medical and social care for a child suffering from diabetes
