Pełny temat badawczy: Zagadnienie przyjaźni jako istotnej relacji międzyludzkiej

Streszczenie: W centrum moich zainteresowań filozoficznych znajduje się człowiek - istota od innych istot różniąca się tym, że jej działanie w świecie jest w znacznej mierze określone aksjologicznie. Ten wymiar człowieczeństwa pojawia się w najstarszych dostępnych nam tekstach kultury i już samo to pozwala na konstatację, że nie tylko uczucia, emocje i namiętności, lecz także pojęcia takie jak dobro czy cnota w znacznym stopniu kształtowały modele międzyludzkich relacji i sposób istnienia człowieka jako jednostki.

Za temat godny podjęcia w ramach rozprawy doktorskiej uważam zagadnienie przyjaźni jako istotnej relacji międzyludzkiej. Temat ten nie doczekał się w nowszej i najnowszej filozofii należytej uwagi, choć należy do klasycznych zagadnień filozofii.

Za najistotniejsze elementy projektu badawczego uważam dwa, a mianowicie:

1. Określenie, analiza i systematyzacja relacji przyjaźni i miłości. Kwestię tę należy postawić w ramach filozofii uczuć i rozważyć odwołując się do klasycznych koncepcji autorów takich jak M. Scheler i D. von Hildebrand, a także autorów dawniejszych, na czele z Arystotelesem i Epikurem. Ważną częścią pracy doktorskiej na ten temat powinna być analiza najnowszej literatury, zwłaszcza anglosaskiej, poświęconej filozofii uczuć przyjaźni i miłości.
2. Usytuowanie uczucia przyjaźni w kontekście rozmaitych struktur świata ponowoczesnego. Celem badawczym jest tu ukazanie pozycji przyjaźni w strukturze bytu osobowego człowieka współczesnego. Należy rozważyć, czy tempo społecznych, kulturowych i ekonomicznych przemian w istotny sposób zmienia ludzkie podejście do podstawowych wartości (do takich zalicza się przyjaźń), czy nasze ontologiczne i aksjologiczne „przyspieszenie” (P. Virilio, O. Marquard) oznacza także pewną powszechną „pobieżność”, i co za tym idzie, deprecjację tego, co wydawało się niezbywalne, w tym przyjaźni. Jakkolwiek diagnozy i prognozy dla naszego świata są w większości niekorzystne, przyjaźń może być pewnym rodzajem furtki służącej do aksjologicznej ucieczki od tego, co współczesnego człowieka przytłacza, a nawet niszczy. W obliczu nowych rodzajów ontologii - a za takie można uznać ontologię horyzontalną, podkreślającą egalitarny charakter wszelkiego istnienia - otwierają się nowe perspektywy, pojawiają dodatkowe obszary konotacyjne wobec których definicja przyjaźni może zostać poszerzona i przebudowana.

Oba te elementy można rozważyć i przeanalizować łącznie w jednej pracy. Można je też potraktować jako osobne projekty badawcze i każdemu z nich poświęcić rozprawę doktorską.

Wymagania dla kandydata: Od doktoranta oczekuje się wstępnej znajomości podstaw filozofii klasycznej, zdolności analizy tekstów filozoficznych, zdolności dostrzegania i rozumienia problemów filozoficznych i – co bardzo ważne - zdolności samodzielnego stawiania problemów filozoficznych. Ponadto od doktoranta oczekuje się znajomości języka angielskiego lub/i niemieckiego w stopniu umożliwiającym sprawne poruszanie się w filozoficznej literaturze poświęconej przyjaźni.

Abstract: At the center of my philosophical interests is man - a being that differs from other beings in that its action in the world is to a large extent axiologically determined. This dimension of humanity appears in the oldest texts of culture available to us, and this alone allows us to conclude that not only feelings, emotions and passions, but also concepts such as good or virtue, to a large extent shaped models of interpersonal relations and the way of human existence as an individual.

I consider the issue of friendship as an important interpersonal relationship to be a topic worth taking up as part of doctoral dissertation. This topic has not received due attention in the newer and newest philosophy, although it belongs to the classical problems of philosophy.

I consider two of the most important elements of the research project, namely:

1. Defining, analyzing and systematizing the relationship of friendship and love. This issue should be raised within the philosophy of feelings and considered by referring to the classical concepts of authors such as M. Scheler and D. von Hildebrand, as well as earlier authors, including Aristotle and Epicurus. An important part of the doctoral dissertation on this subject should be the analysis of the latest literature, especially Anglo-Saxon, devoted to the philosophy of feelings of friendship and love.
2. Placing the feeling of friendship in the context of various structures of the postmodern world. The research goal here is to show the position of friendship in the structure of the personal existence of contemporary man. It should be considered whether the pace of social, cultural and economic changes significantly changes the human approach to basic values ​​(such as friendship), or whether our ontological and axiological "acceleration" (P. Virilio, O. Marquard) also means a certain universal " superficiality ”, and hence, a depreciation of what seemed inalienable, including friendship. Although the diagnoses and forecasts for our world are mostly unfavorable, friendship can be a kind of gateway for an axiological escape from what modern man overwhelms and even destroys. In the face of new types of ontologies - and a horizontal ontology can be regarded as such, emphasizing the egalitarian nature of all existence - new perspectives are opened, and additional connotation areas appear towards which the definition of friendship can be expanded and rebuilt.

Both of these elements can be considered and analyzed together in one work. They can also be treated as separate research projects and a doctoral dissertation should be devoted to each of them.

Requirements for the candidate: The doctoral student is expected to have an initial knowledge of the basics of classical philosophy, the ability to analyze philosophical texts, the ability to perceive and understand philosophical problems and - what is very important - the ability to independently pose philosophical problems. In addition, the doctoral student is expected to have a command of English and / or German sufficiently to enable him to navigate the philosophical literature on friendship.
