XXXVIII edition of the National Anatomy Knowledge Competition Scapula Aurea 2025

On May 23–24, 2025, the halls of the Medical College of the University of Rzeszów hosted the 38th edition of the National Anatomy Knowledge Competition Scapula Aurea – an event that has, for years, brought together medical students from across Poland through their shared passion for human anatomy.
📚 For two intense days, the Medica College became a place of intellectual competition, exchange of ideas, and forming new friendships. This year’s edition gathered a record number of 17 universities, with over 80 students participating in the contest.

👨‍⚕️👩‍⚕️ The competition consisted of two parts:
🔍 A practical section, involving the identification of 25 anatomical specimens,
📝 and a written test with 50 questions.

The official opening ceremony was conducted by:
🎙 Dr. hab. Krzysztof Balawender, Prof. UR – Head of the Department of Normal and Clinical Anatomy at the University of Rzeszów
🎙 Dr. hab. Rafał Podgórski, Prof. UR – Dean of the Medica College, University of Rzeszów
🎙 Prof. Janusz Moryś, MD, PhD – President of the Polish Anatomical Society
🎙 Prof. Jerzy Walocha, MD, PhD – Vice President of the Polish Anatomical Society

🏆 Congratulations to all participants and winners!
The awards – glass scapulas crafted by the “Sabina” Artistic Glassworks in Krosno – were presented in both individual and team categories.

2nd place – Ałła Sobachenko, Faculty of Medicine, Bydgoszcz University of Science and Technology
3rd place – Jakub Cheliński, Faculty of Medicine, Bydgoszcz University of Science and Technology

1st place – John Piątek, Medica College, Jagiellonian University
2nd place – Izabella Wilk, Medica College, University of Rzeszów
3rd place – Peter Ibeabuchi, Medica College, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Bydgoszcz

1st place – Bydgoszcz University of Science and Technology
2nd place – Medica College, Jagiellonian University
3rd place – Medica College, University of Rzeszów

🏅 Team classification – English Division:

3rd place – Nicolaus Copernicus University in Bydgoszcz
