Information for candidates

 

Faculty of Medicine  (6-year MD program in English)

Full time studies (6 years, 12 semesters)

Payment – 12 000 euro per year. Agreement: Student – University.

Application (recruitment) fee is 85 PLN

 

The recruitment system automatically calculates the appropriate amount of the recruitment fee. Candidates pay the recruitment fee on their individual sub-account generated for each candidate by the University recruitment system. The system generated title will indicate name and surname, field of study, form and level (eg Jan Kowalski, economics, full-time studies, second-cycle).

If the additional criterion does not settle admission of the number of candidates specified in the limit, the University of Rzeszów reserves the right to accept a lower number of candidates than the limit.

The competences expected from the candidate

The candidate has knowledge at the secondary school level in the field of biology, chemistry, physics or mathematics, demonstrates the desire to expand knowledge (including the field of medical science) and speaks a foreign language at B2 level.

Comments:
1. In the case of candidates with a matriculation examination/maturity certificate so called "old matura" qualification results are recalculated in accordance with the principles set out in rule 23 parts of the general resolution, with an item weight of 0.7


2. In the case of candidates who have obtained, outside the Republic of Poland, a certificate or other document recognized in the Republic of Poland as a document entitling them to apply for higher education, the results being the basis for qualification are recalculated in accordance with Annex 2 to the resolution, with the weight equal to 0. 7.


3. Candidates for the medical faculty conducted in English are required to submit a properly certified document ** certifying knowledge of English at a minimum level of B2 or the result of a written matriculation examination in English on an extended level (at least 80%) or in the case of candidates with an "old matura", minimum a good grade from the secondary school-leaving examination or a document confirming the completion of a post-primary school or a study abroad or in Poland, where the language of instruction was English.
** Annex 2 to the Regulation of the Prime Minister of December 16, 2009 on the manner of conducting qualification proceedings in the civil service (Journal of Laws No. 218, item 1695).


4. Candidates for the medical faculty conducted in English are required to be interviewed in English which will be for the purpose of evaluating the candidates knowledge of specialist vocabulary in the field of subjects considered in the recruitment process and specialized medical vocabulary as well as evaluation of motivation to study medicine. The interview is conducted by the Faculty office Recruitment Committee. If it is the case that the number of candidates prevents an interview, checking the knowledge of the specialist vocabulary mentioned above may take place in the form of a written test. In justified cases concerning foreigners, it is possible to conduct an interview using internet communicators. The decision on the admission to an online interview is made by the chairman of the Examination Commission.


5. Persons admitting no less than 40 ranking points from each required subject may apply for admission to a medical faculty.

6. Candidates who took the matriculation examination (the so-called "International Baccalaureate IB", "European Baccalaureate EB") are subject to qualification on the basis of the results of the matriculation examination of the two required subjects according to the algorithm:


1) European Baccalaureate (EB) results from passed subjects: biology and chemistry or physics / physics and astronomy are calculated in accordance with the formula:
