Entry requirements

The arithmetic mean of all pass grades from subjects completed with exams and credits which will be multiplied by the coefficient 1.8 for graduates in Economics with a general academic profile, 1.6 for graduates of Economics with a practical profile or by 1.4 for graduates of other faculties in the field of economic science with a general academic or practical profile.

Additional criteria in case the number of candidates with the same number of points exceeds the limit of vacancies

grade from the diploma thesis – UR reserves the right to accept a number of candidates smaller than the limit if the additional criterion does not allow to select the number of candidates smaller than the specified limit.

Competences expected

The candidate should have basic knowledge in the field of Economics and related disciplines. It is assumed that the candidate achieved the majority of learning outcomes from the first degree studies in the field of Economics. Polish citizens wishing to study in Polish should have the knowledge of a foreign language at least at B1 (CEFR).
Poles and foreigners wishing to study in English should have the knowledge of the foreign language at least at B2 level.

Additional notes

Graduates of Bachelor’s studies holding a bachelor's degree, graduates of uniform master's studies or their equivalent allowing to take up the second degree studies can apply for admission. Both the Polish citizens and foreigners are admitted to UR, as defined in the resolution of UR Senate.

Candidates who want to study in English:

 

Polish citizens - are obliged to submit a certificate of language proficiency** certifying the knowledge of English at a minimum level of B2 or the result of a written Matura exam (secondary school-leaving examination certificate) in English at an advanced level (minimum 70%) or in case of candidates with “stara matura” (old school-leaving examination certificate) at least a good grade (dobry) or a document confirming the completion of a post-primary school or studies conducted abroad or in Poland, where the language of instruction was English.


Foreigners - are required to submit a certificate of language proficiency** certifying the knowledge of English at a minimum level of B2 or a document confirming the completion of a post-primary school or studies abroad or in Poland, where the language of instruction was English.

** Annex No. 2 to the Ordinance of the Prime Minister of 16 December 2009 on the manner of conducting recruitment proceedings in the civil service (Journal of Laws of 2009 No 218, item 1695).
